My Life in Journalism

I started my academic career at the University of Florida as a mechanical engineering major due to my interest in math and science. After two years of studying forces, memorizing equations and solving theorems I decided my life needed a change. After an exploratory semester of anthropology, journalism and telecommunications I finally settled on print journalism. Soon after that, I discovered UF's online journalism program, which combined the writing and creativity of print journalism with a level of media production not easily found in any other major. Since then, I have altered my focus to learning the components of web journalism as well as the production of digital content.

What's Cool About Me

Along with learning how to apply information tools like FinalCut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Flash, I’ve also developed a knack for XHTML and CSS. On top of that, this site is run dynamically using Textpattern, a popular content management system. Shortly after graduating from UF, I began working for a local magazine called PBG Lifestyle. In March 2009 I became Editor of the magazine, an adventure which I’m enjoying more and more every day.
