Objective
My objective is to pursue a career in online journalism with a focus on media production.
Experience
Parametric Solutions, Inc.
In the summer of 2004 I interned at a mechanical engineering firm in Jupiter, Fl., where I performed a number of duties for the engineers. These tasks included IT work and PowerPoint presentations, as well as the maintenance and updating of their database system.
Applied Interactive Newspapers
In the spring of 2008 I elected to take the capstone course for online journalism at UF, JOU4946, which attempts to reproduce many of elements found in a modern online newsroom. In this class, the students acted as editors of their own online newspaper, UF's Newszine, in Weimer Hall's Interactive Media Lab.
This course is classified as an internship for journalism because the students are expected to perform all of the duties expected of online media producers today. This includes reproducing wire content, producing videos, creating SoundSlides presentations and editing stories. We also partipated in a rebuild of the Newszine utilizing CSS and JavaScript elements.
